November 26 2018
Oakland, CA
I am very lucky with the amount of paid vacation time I get through my work every year. I am also very lucky that early/mid November is not crazy busy for Tim because that means that our vacation usually aligns with my Birthday every year. In order to make the vacation less of a “Breanne’s Birthday Trip” and more fun for both of us, back in 2018 I gifted Tim with tickets to a warriors game. I am personally not a HUGE NBA fan, more of a hockey/baseball girl myself, but I wanted to add this experience to my bucket list for many reasons. My dad always used to talk about Lakers’ games and would rarely miss a chance to yell at the tv when a game was on.
I did NOT know how expensive tickets are to NBA games and now realize why I probably never went games as a kid. So I splurged a bit on our seats (we spent no money on flights because I had miles, saved a bunch of money on hotels because Tim was still working for Hilton at the time, and we spent nothing on tastings in Napa again because of where TIm worked), so I wanted to get close enough to the court to feel like we were there (also because my eyesight isn’t the best haha).
Unknowingly the seats we got (Section 113, Row 19 seats 1&2) were in some sort of premium section, we had our own little food/drink stands that only people in our section could access which made getting sustenance quicker. That was an unexpected surprise.
We were a little sad that Stephen Curry wasn’t playing that night, but the Warriors ended up winning (Warriors: 116 Orlando Magic: 110) in the last couple minutes, was a great way to end the night!
